Lace Dresses + Strange Weather

Tucson is weird, man. One day it’s sunny and the next, it’s raining. That means transitional dressing. I’ve talked briefly about transitional dressing in the past, a.k.a. being ready for heavy rain at a moment’s notice. Just the other day, I shared some of my favorite sweater dresses that I wear with my water-resistant booties and today I’m sharing another favorite dress of mine, styled for the strange weather.

Fun fact: since the weather was being a bit strange today too, I actually had to shoot this at my apartment, which is not exactly what I was planning. But I was pleasantly surprised at how these photos turned out. I wanted to wear this in New York for fashion week, but unfortunately, my carry-on didn’t allow for one more outfit. (You may enjoy reading how I packed 10 outfits in one carry on for more information on that!)

This dress features a pretty lace overlay and high neck and is perfect for any date night. Since I tend to prefer a bit longer hemlines, I definitely felt more comfortable with tights under this dress. Wearing the tights with the black mules also helped slim down my legs and create the perfect smooth line. I paired the dress with a charcoal gray wool jacket, just to prevent the look from being overwhelmingly black. With the mix of blush, charcoal gray, and black, it created a romantic, winter combination.

I have so much more to share with you guys soon, so please stay tuned! I know I’ve been all over the board lately and between crazy weather and a crazy schedule, the blog had to come second. But I promise, more good stuff (like this outfit) is on the way soon!
