Breaking out the Fall Boots While Still Breaking a Sweat

I’m not going to lie to you guys – it’s still really freakin’ hot in Phoenix. I’m sweating through easily two or three shirts a day and these blog photoshoots in the sun are leaving me so tired, I’m taking four hour naps afterward. I complain but, honestly, I do still love living here. I’d rather be sweating now than freezing in just a few short months.

One of the things blogging has forced me to do every once in a while is step out of my fashion comfort zone. Especially when hanging around other creatives, it’s so easy to draw inspiration! I recently got to work with Timberland on an Instagram collaboration, but given the time constraints of the deadline, I knew I was still going to have to shoot these boots while it was still pretty toasty outside.

Generally, I would style these boots with a tunic or sweater with leggings or jeans tucked in. But, given the intense heat out here, I had to do something a bit different.

Since the boots are a lovely olive green color (my absolute favorite transitional color), I wanted to pair them with a rather neutral outfit. This black denim skirt is an old favorite and I paired it with a boxy white button down that’s just as good for casual wear as it is for the workplace.

You’ve seen this hat before – it’s from the blogger favorite brand Lack of Color and it has a beautiful embroidered ribbon around the brim. I’ve been wearing it a lot this summer (and I have a few new hats coming in for fall).

These boots were a real hit on Instagram – how would you style them?
