Finding a New Home

Well, I’m officially in Scottsdale, AZ. If you’ve been following my Instagram stories, you might know this by now. I have a new apartment, new furniture, new everything. It’s pretty nice. However, as a blogger, starting over in a new city can be rough. My campaigns have been coming in pretty steadily, which is great, but all of my photographers are still located in Tucson. That’s rough.

I’ve had so many creative ideas that I haven’t yet had the time to implement, like a comprehensive series on starting a blog and finding sponsorships and creative outfit ideas for fall! I was in a rut for so long and now I’m overwhelmed with creative ideas with no time to shoot them!

So today, I’m sharing an outfit I’ve been wanting to for a while. I picked up this midi dress from VICI a few weeks back and it’s been on repeat ever since it arrived. It’s one of those dresses that’s appropriate, lightweight for summer, and easy to throw on for just about any occassion. I can wear it with flats, sandals, heels, and more. So far, I’ve worn it on a cruise, to a local brewery opening, and out and about while running errands.

The hat has been on my wishlist for a while. I finally picked it up on Amazon when I got a gift card. It’s from the Lack of Color hat brand in Australia; it’s the brand that just about every blogger is wearing right now. I’m wearing the Spencer Boater in Terracotta, which has a brown leather band instead of a black ribbon band right above the brim. I just felt that the band matched my desert-style aesthetic better.

I matched my sandals to my hat, so they’re the same color brown. They’re the popular Hermes dupes from Steve Madden that I picked up for only $50! I don’t think they’re on sale anymore, but they were a great purchase. They’re super easy to throw on and they match just about anything!

Lastly, the necklace I’m wearing is from AUrate, which is one of my favorite luxury jewelry brands. AUrate gifted me this necklace and it’s quickly become one of my favorites. Unfortunately, I don’t think this particular necklace is sold on the site anymore, but they still have a gorgeous collection of necklaces including other collar necklaces like the one I’m wearing, and a similar flower necklace.

I tend to prefer their more minimal styles, which was why I was drawn to this particular necklace. I love the little flower details on the ends and it’s been a perfect summer accessory! You can learn a little more about them in my old posts where I style their earrings here, their necklace here, and an ear cuff here. They make such high quality jewelry staples that will last in your jewelry box for a long time!

Hi - my name is Kirsten! I am currently based in Chicago after a long cross-country move from Arizona. What will you find here? I love sharing all things sustainability and slow fashion, any of my day-to-day shenanigans, the latest new hobbies I picked up, and whatever concert or music festival I can find. Welcome and thanks for popping in to my little corner of the world wide web!
