5 Ways to Re-focus on Fitness in 2020

This post is sponsored by BabbleBoxx but all opinions are my own.

I think we can all agree that it’s been one heck-of-a year. I know I’ve fallen off the fitness wagon and gotten back on several times, experiencing the pain of starting over, overtraining, and adjusting to a new routine all in the course of a few months.

But – over the months, I’ve done a lot of new things that have helped me mentally and physically. Thanks to BabbleBoxx, I was also able to try out a few new things to add to my routine. If you’re looking for tips on refocusing on fitness this year, I’ve got tips and a few things you can try.

Try Out Supplements

One of the things I started taking this year was supplements. I added vitamins, probiotics, protein, collagen… I really looked into what these things did and found healthy ways of adding them to my diet and daily routine.

While generally I use flavored proteins for my morning shakes, this flavorless Multi Collagen Protein from Ancient Nutrition provided both protein and collagen and was easy enough to add to my morning smoothies. It supports a healthy gut, skin, hair, nails, and joints, so it does a lot of good. All sources are non-GMO, pasture-raised, cage free, and cruelty free.

Ancient Nutrients Zinc + Probiotics also came in the box, and who couldn’t use a little immune support right now? It supports both a healthy immune system and healthy digestion, packed with 20 mg of enzyme-activated zinc and 2 billion CFUs of probiotics.

Try Practicing Mindfulness

One of the things I’ve added to my routine is practicing gratitude, writing down affirmations, and manifesting. This is all very new for me, but I’ve found it helps my mindset a lot. I usually take time in the morning to practice gratitude and meditate while I save the evenings for affirmations and manifestation.

The Amenti Oracle Feather Heart Deck and Guide Book brings the wisdom of Ma’at — the ancient Egyptian concept of truth and balance — to the modern world. I was always fascinated by ancient Egypt, so this has been a fun way to add to my mindfulness practice.

For those modern mystics or those with an interest in divination, this might be perfect for you.

Try a New Healthy Snack

Energy bars are my shiz. Seriously, I always keep them with me. I’ve tried a lot of different brands, but having them on hand has been a necessity for me to curb cravings during the day.

The latest one I’ve tried is Nature Valley’s sustained energy bars. They are made with all the kinds of things I love, like creamy nut butter, crunchy nuts & seeds such as almonds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds or peanuts and chewy cranberries or blueberries. It has creamy, chewy, and crunchy textures all in one snack bar and delivers on the long-lasting energy you need to get through important parts of your busy day.

My personal favorite is the Almond Butter and Blueberry!

Try New Workout Gear

Leggings

Is there anything that kicks your butt into gear better than new workout gear?

A girl can never have too many workout leggings and I love the recent No Nonsense Sport leggings I’ve added to my collection. They sit just above the hips and don’t dig in at all. Seriously, my waist was looking hot fire flames in these.

They feature a wide waistband for comfort, lightweight fabric, a smooth look, and a flattering ankle length.

Ring Hero

I was also provided with a RingHero, which turned out to be the gym accessory I didn’t know I needed. I am notorious for leaving my jewelry at the gym and I always want to take it off mid-workout. My solution? Usually tying it to my shoes. *face palms forehead* I know, it’s bad.

RingHero is the ultimate jewelry storage solution for all women. It’s a wristband that keeps your rings and small jewelry safe during all your activities. It protects your rings in a secure zippered pocket, safely stored on your wrist. It’s easy to use; just place your rings and small jewelry inside the zip pocket and slip on the wristband. Your stuff is safe and snug on your wrist always visible and safe from sweat, damage and theft.

It also protects your rings from scratches, damage and even diamonds falling out. Any activity that bumps against your ring can potentially catch on surfaces and cause damage to your hand; this is a much better alternative!

Try a Meal Prep Service

Lastly, where abs are made… in the kitchen. While I’ve spent a lot of quarantine time refining my cooking skills, for those of us with busy schedules, meal prep services are a great alternative. I would know – I used one for four whole months this year.

The latest one I tried is Veestro, a company that makes fully-prepared, 100% plant-based meals and ships them straight to your door anywhere in the contiguous US. The mission of the company is to help everyone eat more plants by providing chef-crafted, delicious meals that just need to be heated and enjoyed.

The meals are fully prepared and convenient and made fresh and shipped frozen to reduce food waste. It’s a good solution for when you want to have a few healthy meal options on hand for busier days.
