Moroccan Around the Christmas Tree

I’m going to be honest with y’all; I don’t do my hair all that often. When people ask me the secret to growing out my hair, I tell them to use quality products and turn off the heat! But when the holidays roll around, I find that there are so many events to attend, it’s hard to not get heat-crazy. I mean, whether it’s getting my hair ready for the company holiday party or curling my hair to fit perfectly under a Santa hat, my hair takes a lot of heat during this time of the year.

So if you want to get your hair ready for family photos, kisses under the mistletoe, and perfect curls that catch little snowflakes in those perfect holiday pictures, you’ve got to make sure your hair is healthy and up to the challenge.

How to Get Your Hair Holiday Ready

If you’re heat treating your hair on a regular basis, you have to start by repairing and restoring your hair. I color treated my hair a few years ago, so I am always making sure to use restorative products that breathe life back into my tired ends. If you need the same kind of hair renewal but don’t want to break the bank, Herbal Essences has just what you need.

There is a new holiday pack of Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo and Conditioner with a White Grapefruit dry shampoo as a bonus! The bio:renew formula enhances your hair with each wash and the packs are about half of the price of buying the items separately, so it’s like a Christmas gift for your hair! Trust me, you’ll be Moroccann around the Christmas tree with hair as smooth and soft as my silk dress.

The Base

This product will give you the right base to create the perfect hairstyle. When I go to holiday parties, I tend to show off my long hair by wearing it down and doing something that I don’t do as often: curling it.

The Style

I curled my hair here with a 1.5″ clip barrel. Since my hair is thick, it takes me about 20-30 minutes to curl and I have to turn the heat to one of the highest settings. To keep your hair as beautiful as the products will make it, you have to protect it from the heat.

I start by spraying my hair all over with a heat protectant spray and I spray more on as I section each part of my hair off for curling. Typically, I curl my hair in four sections and do the top section as one big section to give my hair a little more volume.

Making It Last

Now, if you use enough hairspray, you can even make this hairstyle last a few days! I sprayed a bit of the White Grapefruit dry shampoo on my roots the next morning and managed to make the hairstyle last two more days! I wore it down and clipped back on the side the next day and the third day, I wore it up in a teased high-pony. With the proper hair care techniques and the right products, your clean hair can last several days with minimal dry shampoo and touch ups!

Get your hair holiday ready with the new Herbal Essences holiday packs! Even if you don’t need the extra repair treatment like me, there is definitely one that can fit your hair care needs!
