The Summer Dress of my Dreams

I’ve had a thing for summer dresses since high school. Back in high school, it was this big deal because I hit 27 dresses – ya know, like the movie. When I went to college, started living on my own, and working enough to make my own little bit of disposable income, my love for sundresses grew into an all out obssession. One-half of my entire closet is just dedicated to dresses. Part of the reason might be that I live in Arizona and it’s hot year-round. I can wear these dresses just about any day of the week at any point in the year and I’m all set with a cute outfit.

I’ve tried to cut back in my dress purchases in the recent years and instead invest in wearable separates for work. But when I saw this Moon River wrap dress on Maude’s Instagram story, well, I knew it had to join the ranks in my closet.

It’s the perfect brunch or summer date dress. It’s a little lower cut than I expected and I did have to go up to a size Large (I’m a 34DD bust and usually a size 6 or 8 in dresses), but it’s so cute with a pair of sandals and a cute bag. If I had a straw bag to go with this dress, that probably would have been the bag of choice, but my Fossil Satchel is the perfect size and color to match just about anything.

I debated a bit on what shoes to wear too; the dress is just so cute I didn’t want anything overwhelming it! I opted for a brown pair of slides, they’re the infamous Steve Madden Dupes on the Hermes Slides, since I didn’t want to wear anything too dark. Keeping the summer vibes going, I also threw on a pair of bold, Kendra Scott earrings in gold.

I linked this dress from a few other stores below, but it looks like it’s mostly just available in gray now. If you want the pink version, you better hurry; it’s still in stock in a few sizes at Maude, but they usually don’t carry a lot of stock!
